With house sitter in place and the car packed up.. we’re escaping the horrible 111/ 44 degree weather and on our way to see family in Washington State for a few days
To start it was 13 hours (without stops) til we got to our hotel in Oregon for the night and we should arrive in Washington sometime tomorrow
The beauty of this trip is we don’t have to rush to get home…. And it’s a heck of a lot cooler
By sunrise we were in Nevada
There was a slight respite of scenery when we passed the beautiful Lake Walker
Then it was back onto the desolate road stretching into the distance
We stopped a few times for MrD to stretch his legs a d for Prince to have a run around.. and have a good sniff.. on his leash of courseThe further we travelled signs of civilization began to appear.. with houses beside the picturesque “Snake River”
And the occasional pretty church .
And at 5 o’clock… after 15 hours on the road we crossed into Oregon.. with one more hour to the hotel..
One more quick stop before we finally arrived at the hotel which was very comfortable but I forgot to take a photo
After a quick dinner we took a short walk beside “Powder River”
So relaxing..
And setting us up for the rest of the journey tomorrow
Love and Hugs
Phoebe x
