I hope all my American family and friends had a great 4th of July
We were woken up by a video call from our younger son. He has had a terrible few months with cut work hours.. job interview disappointments and few other personal setbacks. He was struggling but never gave up.. and we just kept praying for him.
Then this morning he couldnt contain his excitement as he called to tell us that he had just smashed an interview and had been offered the position as deputy store manager of a large, very busy supermarket (which are also found in the US). And out of all the past interviews this is the one he really wanted and is excited for the opportunities this will bring
Well done my lad.. very proud of you. You've pulled yourself up by the bootstraps.. found your self worth again and now the only way is up
So how did I celebrate you Yanks kicking us Brits out of your wonderful country. Well we enjoyed it our way. A trip to the dog park with the hound... a late breakfast... followed by some work in the garden.
Later we spent a pleasant time with the neighbours... but came home to delicious steak cooked on the bbq... followed by a rather yummy fruit tart... and an evening with a very nervous dog who hates fireworks.
All in all... a pretty enjoyable day.... the Blue House way
Happy Birthday America!!
