Two Weeks....

Two weeks today we start our Road Trip to Spokane for a family wedding...and I get to meet Hubbys family for the first time. 

I was really hoping to have lost 100lb by then...but Im going to fall short. I could kick myself for losing my way for a few months after we got married and the move to the US. Ah well...its not the packaging that counts...its whats inside...right?

Peekaboo...I See You..

I walked a bit further today and went past Hubbys work again...

those kisses are well worth the effort...(wink) 

Then back down to the park where 

Sammy and I had a little game of peekaboo! 

I really am enjoying my walks these days

Bright and Breezy..

Another beautiful day for a walk... 

It was very pleasant with a lovely breeze

 I must admit when I got to the park...I sat for a few minutes 

just enjoying the peace and gazing into the sky. 

No Sammy today...

But...

 I did spy some gorgeous blooms on the way home

Eyes Like a Hawk

Another blazing hot morning in California. 

I left a bit later than usual..

but the moon was still visible in the blue sky above the palm trees. 

When I got to the park..I came upon a hawk tearing at his prey. 

Hoping it wasn't Sammy I edged closer..but the hawk didn't fly away.. 

He covered his food with his wings. 

But I could see feathers so I hoped it was a bird. 

It was a great relief to see Sammy scurrying around the trees

Just a Bit Pink!

After a visit to the hairdressers I decided to walk home

It was very hot and sunny but there was a nice breeze..

The shorts wearing seems to be working...

I no longer have the whitest legs in California..

Its not only the flowers that are pink.

Summer in the City

I enjoyed my walk today. 

Sometimes its easy to forget that I live in a big city. 

 It was a bit cooler today..only in the 80s...

so I pushed myself a bit further. 

I may have overdone it tho...not the steps..but the sun. 

Although I have drank lots of water, 

Im feeling a bit nauseous. 

Maybe a little lie down is in order...

Skype...Soup...and Sunshine

Ive been up since 2.30am teaching my daughter in the UK 

how to cook my Vegetable Soup via Skype... 

Shes was so scaring me with that knife!! 

But not a bad job for first attempt...

and she informs me that the huge chunks of potatoes are for her boyfriend...Mr P 

because he wants them with some chicken...

Later I went for a walk ..and if I had to describe it in one word it would be Phew! 

Boy it was warm...blue skies, blazing sunshine and not a cloud in sight! 

Im hot, sweaty and just a little sun burnt. 

But at least I made it back before it got too hot ... 

 Now to have a cold drink with lots of ice...

and think about making something for lunch

Another Fathers Day..

Happy Fathers Day to the best Dad, Gaga, Brother, Uncle and Friend anyone could wish for... a true gentleman with the greatest sense of humour and the biggest heart. They truly broke the mould when they made you. I am so proud to be your daughter.

The Beatles tribute group 'Hard Days Night' 

was playing at the local Swap Meet again..

and we just had to go.

Being a child of the 60s..

I really love the Beatles music

And this tribute band is one of the best!

Its the closest I will get to seeing the real thing

My Inspiration

People often ask..."Who is the biggest influence in your life" 

For me...this wonderful woman filled those shoes perfectly...and some. 

She instilled in me my Faith.. my respect of others..

my morals and my love of family. 

She ruled with a rod of iron... 

but had the capacity to love more than anyone I know. 

Nana...I will love you always and I miss you more than anyone could imagine..
