Happy Saint Davids Day

Dydd Gwyl Dewi Hapus i Pawb!!

Happy Saint Davids Day to Everyone!!

Jesus Chapel St David.jpg

St David's Day is celebrated in Wales on 1 March, in honour of Dewi Sant or St David,
the patron saint of Wales.

It is the custom to wear either a leek or a daffodil - two of our national emblems -
and for young girls to wear the national costume

Many people attend special church services, parades, choral recitals or Welsh literature readings.
Schools plan celebrations, often involving choirs, on the day.
And of course Welsh Cakes and Bara Brith are eaten

Grandma's Bakestones, Welsh cakes

The Welsh flag, a red dragon on a white and green background,
is displayed prominently and a festive mood prevails.
