♫ Its a Lovely Day Today ♫...

Good Morning from the Blue House...and what a beautiful morning it is. The weather is comfortably warm and sunny...and the garden is thriving..especially the sunflowers which are nearly 3ft tall
already

In fact... the whole garden is coming on nicely...if a little later than I wanted as I had to replant after the grasshopper fiasco. Tomato..peppers, zucchini and cucumbers are growing well.. as are  the different varieties including tonatillos I started from seed later than the others.. and planted out this week. The peas and beans are starting to take off... as are the squash plants..both summer and winter. The beets, turnips, leeks and brussels sprouts have appeared in thier trays and I hope to plant out in a week or two. And this morning flowers appeared on the pumpkin plant.
The only failure so far are the carrots... They were doing well..then overnight they disappeared! Time to try again!
I think the grasshopper situation will be an ongoing problem.... and I will just have to be vigilant. They appear now and again.. but are swiftly dealt with. Right now Im more concerned that from June 1st water restrictions are being enforced.. only allowing watering once a week. Im searching for a solution on that one.

Poor MrDs lawns......

Love and Hugs
