Home..Via Magic Mountains.....

We are home... and what a fab weekend it was....and very memorable. Spending time with MrD is always wonderful... and seeing Donny and Marie was the icing on the cake..

.... Just a side note here... My daughter asked me if Donny gave me a shout out.. I said no..why should he? Apparently she had sent him over thirty messages in five days asking him to say hi to me!!! I never knew my daughter was a stalker!!! I couldnt stop laughing...

Anyway...on the way home we stopped at a tourist attraction that we had seen a few times in the distance when travelling back and forth on the freeway to Las Vegas over the last couple of years

Seven Magic Mountains are colorful, stacked boulders standing 25 ft. high...some as tall as 35ft..in the Ivanpah Valley. Although impressive... I couldnt get my head around the fact they cost 3.5 million dollars to build. Thats art for you I guess.

Always the comedian... MrD wanted you to know...he wasnt climbing UP the stack.. but coming down (yeah right)..

He wanted me to meet his friend Spike...

who I hope doesnt wander off the beaten path!!!

Night Lights...

This evening it became extremely windy..so we got a little damp watching the Bellagio Fountain and the Mirage Volcano was cancelled due to the weather.

We did a little bit of walking to see the lights on the Strip... 

but we decided to go for ice cream ..and call it a night.. we have walked miles!!

So after breakfast tomorrow we will start the drive home. 

We have had an amazing time..and next year..

 we will be coming back with my daughter and her little family...

Walking the Strip ...

 So after the wonderful show last night...

MrD and I were up bright and early for breakfast 

and ready to walk the Las Vegas Strip..

We saw...

 The Luxor..

 Escaliber...

 New York..New York..

 Caesars Palace..

The Mirage..

 The Venetian..

and we even found a little bit of England.

We walked miles...

but it was back to the hotel for a rest and some dinner..

What a Show!!...

Its Late...

but I just had to pop on and say....

Donny and Marie were fantastic!!

No cameras were allowed so I took a sneaky pic so you can see how close we were

The show was energetic..funny.. the singing was great

and even MrD really enjoyed it!

It truly was worth the 45 year wait~~

Hello Again Vegas!...

We have arrived safe and sound in Las Vegas. We had a comfortable journey...although MrD look doesnt look thrilled at the prospect of seeing Donny and Marie... lol

 We are staying in Harrah's Hotel and Casino..although neither of us gamble. We dont have a view of the "Strip" from our window.. but we can see the High Roller. Maybe we can have a ride before we leave...

Now to get ready for tonights show..

Im getting in the swing of things as I finish the packing..

I cant quite believe I will be seeing Donny Osmond tonight...Fourth time lucky....and its only been 45 years... This time no cancellations from illness..death.. and cancer.. I hope! Its so exciting

Frustration!!!..

So...we went back to the doctors hoping to hear about his surgery. We told the doctor the his symptoms are getting worse.. The swelling in his groin is bigger... he is getting cramp in his leg and foot...and last night his abdomen visibly swelled up...and an hour later went down

The doctor said we are still waiting for the confirmation number from the  people covering the surgery and insurance..and as soon as we have the letter to get in touch with the office. Until then he cant proceed with the surgery...

The problem with this is.... we gave his office the confirmation number on our first visit!! But the receptionist hadn't entered it into the system!! Seriously!!

So now we have another week to wait for some progress.. soooo frustrating!! Hubby is not pleased.

National Dughters Day...

Today is National Daughters Day... not to be confused with Sons and daughters day which is in August..

I was blessed with two beautiful daughters... one 5,000 miles away in England.. the other in heaven..and who I never got to hold. One daughter I will see next year when we travel for her wedding... the other I will see when the Lord calls me home. I love and miss them both with all my heart.

Just Thought I'd Ask....

An extra post for today.. so time for a bit of Tuesday fun and I'm joining Toni over at Tuesday 4 Meme for a quick Q&A. Why dont you join in...

1. Have you ever spent ages writing something on your computer when it suddenly crashed and you lost it all?:

Luckily nothing too major...but when it has happened its very frustrating...

2. Are you one of those people who can sleep through anything?:

Living in a city I can sleep through traffic and sirens...and even a minor eathquake once. And as I get older.. I find I can doze off quite easily... in the car..cinema.. and reading a book. But I could never sleep when my children cried out in the night

3. What type or kind of art do you like? And do you draw or paint yourself:

Oh I would love to be able to paint... all I can do is doodle..and perhaps a bit of colouring in a book. Oh to be artistic! I havent got a favourite type of art..its whatever catches my eye...although modern art is way down the list. I like to understand what Im looking at...

4. If you went to London, where would you go first?:

Being a Brit who now lives in California.. I have been to London a few times. In fact..in the late eighties.. I worked as a Nanny in Chelsea (no one famous.. although my charges did go to school with the Duke of Gloucesters daughters...major name drop there!). I also had to travel back and forth from my home in Wales to the American Embassy when I was going through the Visa process to move to the US. But if I was visiting for the first time...I would jump on one of the many tour buses that would take you to all the big attractions.. like Buckingham Palace(my first choice)..the London Eye..Houses of Parliment etc.... and you can"hop on and hop off" any time you like

Whats For Dinner ~ Meal Plan Monday

Its the First Day of Fall...and next to Christmas its my favourite season. Hopefully the weather will start becoming cooler.

An exciting week ahead. On Friday morning MrD and I are driving to Las Vegas on the trip he booked to celebrate the one year anniversary of my cancer remission. I am so looking forward to it.

So only four Dinners to plan this week... and all very quick and easy. Thursdays meal is the same as last weeks.. We enjoyed it so much we are having it again...with the leftover sausage from last week.

With an opticians appointment on Tuesday... Bible Study on Thursday morning.. plus a meeting with MrDs Doctor that afternoon.. this week will fly by
