Of course..its Easter so time for the obligatory new photo

Over in England our granddaughters opened their Easter gifts..

and Little Tufty loved her new Bunny.

Later Mummy and Daddy took them out to lunch...

so Little Tufty just had to look her most glamourous..

Its definitely Spring in England...

and Im not the only one who loves blossom.

Meanwhile Little Mr collapsed in chocolate coma...

after an "eggsciting" egg hunt and filling his basket with goodies.

Here at home we enjoyed a scrumptious Easter Dinner

including roast beef with jalapeno poppers..

Devilled Eggs

and Roasted Asparagus

Delicious!

But of course..there's always room for dessert...

An M&M filled Devils Food Bundt Cake... 

Diet starts again tomorrow...

Rain.. Chocolate and a Lost Tooth...

We have had torrential rain all day..

which I dont mind..

and the flowers are loving.

Even the potatoes have had a growth spurt!

But the front yard that MrD rotavated yesterday is a huge, waterlogged, muddy mess.

The rain is set to last til tomorrow afternoon and then warmer, dryer weather is on the way.

This afternoon I prepped every thing for tomorrows dinner. MrD mentioned we are not having any candy this Easter.. and I know he loves his chocolate so I made a batch of his favourite Chewy Chocolate Chip Brownie Cookies

and a quick Devils Food Bundt Cake which I will finish decorating tomorrow

Meanwhile in England.. Little Miss and Little Tufty decorated their Easter tree...

and I cant believe how well Little Tufty is standing...

And Little Mr called to show us he has lost his first tooth. He's going to put it under his pillow ready for the Tooth Fairy. How much is she bringing I asked.. a pound?. No.. he replied...100 dollars.!! 

I hope the Tooth Fairy has big pockets.... are you listening Mummy?

Good Friday...

Happy Good Friday... and all I can say is Thank you Jesus. Thank you for dying for my sins, Thank you for giving me hope, and thank you for letting me know that death is not the end. I am so eternally grateful for all you do in my life and I am so blessed to know you

Easter weekend started spendidly for Little Miss. She won her class Easter Egg competition. She received a large chocolate egg which she offered to share with me.(even though shes 5000miles away)

 I was so touched.. but I thanked her and said she should eat it all herself and we would share some chocolate next time we meet. I told her that too much sweet stuff is not good for Nanas... and tapped my tummy saying "you know what its like when you get older. Yes she replied..."Yes... you die!"

 I actually meant its easy to put on weight...but she wasnt wrong....lol

MrD finishes early on a Friday.... so as soon as he got home we took Prince over to the dog park for a run. The signs of Spring were everywhere. The snow had disappeared from the nearby hills

Persian Speedwell was growing everywhere...

and the Catkins are hanging from the Oak trees

When we got home...MrD started his next major project...

Rotavating and reseeding the front and back lawns

Starting with the front

It took most of the day....

but he finished in time to have some Chicken Frajita pizza for dinner..

before we left for the Good Friday Service at church

We enjoyed it immensely... but was disappointed to hear that that Sundays 6am Son Rise service was cancelled. There is heavy rain heading our way for the next couple of days.. so an outdoor service would be a bad idea..

Still there will be normal services...so thats something to look forward to

Face Timing...

 It was a chilly morning...the moon was still bright in the sky when I went out to check on the garden

the Bougainvillea are looking so pretty

My eldest grandson, Little H facetimed me from England. Now he's eleven hes really getting into cooking. Every time he goes to his dads house, he's allowed to help with dinner.. and he wanted to show me what he was making. His life has been a bit up and down recently. He wants to live with dad full time but mum is naturally against it. But they have compromised and H will spend half the time with mum and half with dad...rather than just Saturday morning to Sunday night. Seeing as they only live five minutes from each other...in my mind... there's not too much upheaval!!

Anyway...he made Spanish rice and I think hes done an excellent job

I, myself, made some hot cross buns...lovely to have with a nice cup of tea

I had another Facetime call this time from Little Tufty.. who told me.. in her own way... that she has been to doctors...and she now has eczema. Poor little thing... she has it all over her back and around her mouth. It is prevalent in our family so mummy knows how to deal with it. And...it doesnt stop her from eating!

Later I put the finishing touches another apron... I like to have a nice selection

and later made Spaghetti and meatballs for dinner

To round off the day I did some knitting while MrD and I listened to a couple of old time radio shows.

and another day is over
