Hello July!...

Good Morning from The Blue House..
Its the first of July.. and I'm back. I took a month of social media for family reasons... and June just flew by.

MrDs step father passed away. Not going into too much detail, his 90 year old mother.. who is on oxygen most of the day was at peace that he passed in his sleep and was no longer suffering. She was already thinking ahead.. didnt want anyhelp and was planning to sell the house and move into assisted living in about six months.
That decision has been taken out of her hands. Two weeks ago she had to call 911 after being unable to breathe. She was taken  to hospital and it was deemed that she cant look after herself and would never be able to go home. A few days later, she was moved to the nursing home..which luckily the one she wanted. MrD is the youngest son... his older brother has dementia, his sister is also unwell, but she is able to sort a few things out..so its been left  to us...and we live a two days drive away.
So here's where we are. Between me and his sister we are getting as much paperwork as we can organized, with a power of attourney assigned...and spending lots of time on the telephone...and Google! As soon as this is under control MrD and I will drive up to Spokane...with the dog.. empty her house and sell as much as we can for her. Its so sad as I love where she lives and I would move there in a heartbeat..but its not feasible. It looks like it will be next week and MrD has a lot to do in work to be ready as we think we will be there two weeks

Its been a bit of an eye opener for me..and made us determined to have everything in order for when our time comes so our kids wont be burdened (not that thats how we feel about Mom)

If you could spare a prayer for us so we can do our best for Mom and for the Lord to look after her I would be so grateful

Have a good weekend

Love and Hugs
