Whats For Dinner ~ Meal Plan Monday


With last years health scare firmly on our minds Mr D and I felt it was best to make a few food changes. We no longer deep fry any foods and use spray oil when cooking, even when roasting potatoes. We switched from white bread to wholewheat...even for burger buns. We also made the decision a few weeks ago to cut down on our red meat intake. That dosnt mean we wont have the occasional steak.. shepherds pie or taco. but hopefully it will be only a couple of times a month. As you can see from the menu plan we are using a lot of turkey products. MrD was dubious that the dishes may be bland..but honestly.. with added herbs and spices they are extremely tasty. He has even said the Hawaiian burgers planned for Friday are his favourites right now and he prefers them to a hamburger. Its started well.. and hopefully this weeks menu will keep us on track

Monday             
Chicken Caccitori and Salad

Tuesday              Vegetable Stir Fry

Wednesday        Slow Cooker Pork and Onions

Thursday           Eggs scrambled, Roasted leftover Baby Reds, Turkey Sausage Patties

Friday               
Hawaiian Turkey Burgers. with Homemade Teriyaki sauce

Saturday            
Turkey and Bacon Toasted Club Sandwiches

Sunday               Church Fellowship

    our eating habits also. Not easy when you love sweets; we can do better leaving the fats out.
