September has arrived and we are well on our way to Fall.. I cant wait for the cooler weather and the rains to come.
Its the first of the 'ber months however.. here at the Blue House the temperatures are far from brrrrr. Its still in the upper 80s and 90s ...and this week...100's
The garden is coming to an end and this year its been quite the battle.. with a lot of heartache. The cherry tomatoes are still growing happily which is wonderful compared to the five large tomato plants which were ravaged by rats... resulting in only three edible fruits.
The cucumbers are still producing... and some are surviving...tho one plant is completely dead as the rats chewed through the stems.
The jalapenos and shishito peppers are still flourishing...so it hasnt been a total loss
But tomorrow I think I will start digging up the barren plants... and empty the tubs of second crop potatoes. The rats have eaten the plants right down to the stems.
Im hoping that the drastic solutions we have in place will work by the time we are ready for the Fall planting in two weeks
Fingers crossed
Love and Hugs
