Another busy week in the kitchen as I progress in the #everybitcountschallenge
Carrots for the dehydrator
Butternut Squash for the freezer... ready to make my favourite soup
Leftover coffee (which doesn't happen often)...frozen in ice trays... then in baggies..
ready for ice coffee at any time
The vegetable base for Dump Soup.. carrots, clery, onions and beans for protein. Put into baggiesthen into the freezer.. they can be dumped straight into the crock pot with some potatoes, canned tomatoes. worcestershire sauce and stock..and what ever veggie have left in the fridge I had some turnip that I added to a couple of these bags
Bell Pepprs.. I already have come chopped so these are in slices.. ready to put in frajitas
And finally flour...
and after watching many "How to" videos..
Dry canned in half gallon jars..
and each one successfully"pinged"
so their shelf life is extended from 1 year... to maybe five or six..
Now to get on with todays prep... Zucchini...
and maybe make a couple of MrD's favourite Zucchini Bread
Love and Hugs

You are doing so good with this! Do you freeze or dry your base for dump soup? That's such a good idea! And hooray for the canned flour!
ReplyDeleteToday was a cooler day and I did some baking too.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of canning flour but it sounds like it works!
Wow😯. You are doing great. The flour trick has me saying “huh”, never heard of that. Planning ahead is most certainly needed these days. You just never know. Enjoy your day and don’t work too hard. Hugs
