Thrifty Thursday Quick Craft

So...I was in Dollar Tree... and I saw these tapestry type table mats in different Christmas designs, And I thought to myself...hmmm I could make little pillows with those.
So I picked up four..two snowmen designs... 
and two Christmas bells

Now this is a really simple craft. 
All you have to do is place two mats together...wrong sides together
Then following the stitch line on the place mat, sew around three sides.
Stuff with a filling of your choice (I have lots of toy stuffing so I used that).. 
Finally sew the remaining side closed
You can hot glue the edges together...but I prefer to sew

I was going to make a snowman pillow and a bell pillow...
but I had another brainwave.. 
and sewed two different designs together

Now...depending on what takes my fancy ... I can have....
 Two snowmen pillows... or...
Two  Christmas Bells pillows... or...
one of each!!

    I looked at a Christmas pillow last week, they wanted 22.00 for it, and wasn't nearly as lovely as yours.

    What a great idea! I have seen people make tote bags out of placemats also. But I like your idea better. How clever to put them together like that. I think I have to make a trip to Dollar Tree.

    That's a great idea! I bought a Christmas placemat and used it to make a tea cozy. It worked fine but there's not enough filling to keep my tea hot. Oh well, it looks festive at least.
