Chestnuts Roasting........

The weather outside has turned decidedly wintry, hail, sleet and bitterly cold. The perfect weather for curling up in front of a roaring fire with a mug of hot chocolate and reading a good book or watching a classic Christmas movie. Maybe even roasting chestnuts or toasting marshmallows.
But, you must ensure your fire is safe. Here's a handy tip I found over at Our Old Homestead. To keep your chimney clean, throw a handful of salt on the fire. This does not replace the yearly chimney cleaning that is recommended, but it does cut down on the length of cleaning that will need to be done each time.

Now...about that hot chocolate....here are some ideas for you to try. Just click to link to the recipe
Peppermint Hot Chocolate
White Hot Chocolate
The Best Homemade
Polar Express hot chocolate
Hot Choc Colada
Earl Grey Infused Hot Chocolate

Perfectly delicious.

And just to make it just that little more special, here's Nat King Cole. Enjoy

I think that's way before my time. Twisted Sister did a Christmas song called The Twelve Days of Christmas though that you might like.
