Memories...and Making Teriyaki Sauce

Before I moved to the US I lived on a small island at the very top of Wales. And of course..living on an island means you are totally surrounded by water.. making for lots of beaches.. and some fabulous walks.
Looking through some old photos I found these from six years ago today..
taken on Penrhos Beach..
with Holyhead Mountain in the distance.
I can almost smell the sea.

Teriyaki Sauce

MrD and I love this sauce.. and its so quick and easy to make. In fact..we have had it twice in the last week.. with chicken.. and on our Hawaiian Turkey Burgers.
14 cup soy sauce
1 cup water.
12 teaspoon ground ginger.
1teaspoon garlic powder.
5 tablespoons packed brown sugar.
1 -2 tablespoon honey.
2 tablespoons cornstarch.
14 cup cold water

  • Mix all but cornstarch and 1/4c water in a sauce pan and begin heating.
  • Mix cornstarch and cold water in a cup and dissolve.
  • Add to sauce in pan.
  • Heat until sauce thickens to desired thickness.
  • Add water to thin if it thickens too much

Love and Hugs
