Fire!

Yesterday MrD and I had to go to the dentist over in Fullerton about 12 miles away. It was an unusually windy day. As we left home I could see big brown clouds in the distance.
As we were driving the sky was very strange...and the sun was bright red. It seemed quite dark even tho it was only three in the afternoon. It was like a scene from a halloween movie.. but it was more scary than that.

The Anaheim hills which are about 20 miles away (and about 10 miles from our dentist) are burning. Thousands of people have been evacuated. The Santa Ana winds are spreading the fires over thousands of acres. As we got closer to Fullerton we even got ash on the car.
Its not as bad as in Northern California. We, ourselves, are not in any danger.. thankfully. But we are getting evacuation alerts on our phones for areas closer to the fires. I am so sorry for those who have had to leave their homes and dont know if they will have a house to go back to
Even coming home the sky was still very eerie. My thoughts and prayers are with those caught up in this. Stay safe!

  2. We've been seeing the evidence of those fires on the news and it is so scary. All those homes burned and people homeless now. Sad.

  4. We had forest fires here in the Southern US last fall and the smell of smoke in the air was so distressing. Hope they can get them under control.

  6. There have been so many things happening with the weather lately.....hurricanes, flooding, raging fires......it’s is scary and I’m so sorry for all the ones who are affected by these. I read about one couple who survived their place being burned by spending 6 hours in their swimming pool. Much prayer is needed!
