Just Call Me Santa

Are you prepared for the craziness that goes on this time every year? Its the time when people stress and queue and stampede at certain stores over the latest Christmas toy fad . Everyone knows its that years most popular item ...yet they never make or stock enough. It happened with Cabbage Patch Dolls, Ninja Turtles and Furbys to name a few. Well...its here again

Yesterday I had a skype call from my aunt in the UK. Her little grand daughter has asked for one thing...and one thing only for Christmas...and her mum has searched everywhere for it. But its sold out...and they dont know if they will be getting more stock in. They are selling them on Ebay for double the price...but at £60 normal price...doubling it is ridiculous. Livvy knows that her mum is having trouble finding one...but her answer is 'Thats ok Mummy...just ask Santa...he will get me one'

So ..a quick call Auntie Phoebe in California was in order...and thats where I have been today searching for the toy. And you know...it was really hard to get it here too...But after many attempts...success...I found one. I grabbed it....even though it left the shelf empty. And this is what the fuss is all about..

Its called a Hatchimal... An egg that you smash to get the two little animals inside...and its a surprise which ones you get.
The egg itself is very delicate. It actually feels like an egg. Its going to take a lot of packaging to get it to the UK successfully and in one piece. Santa has done her job....so maybe the elves can now lend a hand

Love and Hugs

  1. You are an awesome auntie! When my daughter was little she wanted a Cabbage Patch doll and my husband met a man in the parking lot of a local orchard at 5:30 in the morning to get her one... the things we do for our kids... and nieces!

  4. Hi Phoebe, I've not heard of these toys, I assume they are for the younger children, of which we have none, so we are out of the loop so to speak :)
Lovely blog, a fellow countryman, we have lots in common !
What part of Wales did you live in ? We lived in Chepstow for a time, and as a young girl, Wales was always our weekend getaway. I miss that beautiful green land.

  5. Hello Phoebe, Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment.
You sure are a dedicated auntie to go to the effort to get that Hatchimal ( which I've never heard of!) and send it off to your aunt so her grandchild won't be disappointed. Take care,
